AFSCME Makes Pueblo Happen!
AFSCME workers in Pueblo County keep our community running, and every resident benefits from their work every single day.
Road and Bridge workers maintain more than 1,200 miles of roads that we and our families travel. That’s farther than the distance from Pueblo to Chicago. Every safe commute, school drop-off, and emergency response depends on their work.
Fleet workers keep the county moving by maintaining the vehicles that transport children in Human Services, support Parks operations, and power the Sheriff’s Office. When those vehicles run safely and reliably, our community runs safely and reliably.
Facilities employees care for over 25 county buildings used by the public every day. Keeping them clean, safe, and functional while earning some of the lowest wages in the county.
Parks employees maintain trails, parks, community centers, and more than 100 acres of open space. These are the places where families gather, kids play, and our community stays healthy and connected.
Human Services workers administer the programs that hold our social safety net together. SNAP alone helps feed over 40,000 Pueblo County residents and brings $8 million every month into our local economy, while medical assistance supports over 60,000 neighbors.
Nearly every life in Pueblo County is touched by the work of AFSCME members.
These services don’t happen by accident; they happen because workers show up every day and do the work that keeps Pueblo strong.
Now it’s time for workers to show up for each other.
